1. Search before starting a discussion
Open Community. Use Discussions to browse, Members to find the member view and My Posts to locate your own contributions. Search discussions and choose a topic category to narrow the list.
Start with a few words describing your question. If nothing useful appears, clear the search and return to All. Read the existing discussion before replying so you can add context instead of repeating a question that has already been answered.
2. Prepare a clear new thread
Select New Thread. The composer includes required Title and Body fields and a Category menu. Choose the category that best fits the question, then write a title that explains the issue without opening the post.
Use the body for the relevant context, what you already checked and the specific question. Read the full draft before selecting Post Thread. Use Cancel when the draft is not ready. The blank composer below has not been submitted.
3. Make the example useful without identifying a client
Title: How do you track missing intake answers?
Category: Business Tips
Body: I am designing a planning intake workflow. Some answers arrive as estimates and others need follow-up. How do you keep that distinction clear before the review meeting? I am looking for process ideas, not a conclusion for a specific client.
This gives other members a concrete question without a client’s name, return, balance or account details. Keep each post focused. If you need to discuss a real client matter, use the appropriate private professional channel instead of adding the client’s records to a community thread.
4. Follow the community guidelines
The sidebar asks members to be respectful and professional, avoid spam or self-promotion, keep personal financial information out of public posts and keep discussions relevant to tax planning and financial strategy.
A helpful reply addresses the question and explains its context. A community answer is not verification of a client’s eligibility, a platform policy or a guaranteed result. Check authoritative information and the client’s actual facts before relying on advice for professional work.
5. Report a concern without amplifying it
Posts have a Report control. Use the control associated with the relevant post when content appears to violate the guidelines. Follow any instructions presented and describe the specific concern if prompted.
Do not repost sensitive information or quote it into a new public thread to draw attention to the issue. If reporting fails or the concern involves your account, contact Help & Support with the post context and the result of the action. A report does not guarantee removal or a particular response time.
Common questions
Where do I find posts I created?
Choose My Posts in Community. Use Discussions for the broader feed.
What makes a useful title?
Name the specific question or workflow, such as How do you track missing intake answers? Avoid vague titles that force readers to open the post to understand it.
Can I share a client’s report to explain my question?
Use a fictional or non-identifying example in the community. The guidelines say not to share personal financial information publicly.
Does Report immediately remove a post?
No removal behavior is established here. Use the post’s Report control and inspect the result; do not assume a moderation outcome or deadline.
