Preview report branding and check downloads

Make the report recognizable and readable. Set the logo, colors and text, inspect the sample preview, then review the actual file separately before sending it.

1. Prepare your logo and palette

In Tax Plan, open Settings and find Company Logo. The screen recommends a 200 × 200 pixel logo and lists PNG, JPG and SVG formats. Choose a clean version of your own firm’s mark with enough space around it; a crowded image can become unreadable when reduced.

Under Color Palette, review Primary, Secondary, Accent, Background and Text. Keep body text distinct from the background and reserve accent color for emphasis. The settings describe these colors as applying to reports and the application interface, so inspect both after a change.

2. Write a useful header and footer

In Report Customization, enter the intended Report Header Text and Report Footer Text. The visible counters allow 30 and 100 characters respectively. Review Show Logo, Show Date and Page Numbers together.

Header: Northstar Tax Plan
Footer: Prepared by Northstar Tax Advisory for the named client.

Replace sample firm wording with your own approved text. A footer does not verify a report’s accuracy, and a confidentiality label does not control who receives the file. Choose wording that serves the reader without implying a guarantee.

3. Inspect Preview Report before saving

Select Preview Report in the palette area. Check the logo, title, text contrast, sample date, footer and spacing. The dialog calls this a simplified preview; an actual report may contain additional sections and formatting.

The displayed “Sample Client Name,” savings amount and strategy count are preview content. They are not a generated client result and should not appear in a client deliverable as if they were. Close the preview, adjust the intended settings and use Save Changes when ready. Reopen the settings to confirm what was retained.

4. Check access before a report download

Read the plan and usage information associated with the account and the download action. If a limit, price or upgrade requirement is shown, review it before proceeding. Do not assume a free membership includes every report action or copy a quota from another account’s screenshot.

Use the actual report’s available download control after the content is ready. If that control is missing, blocked or returns an error, record the report name, tool, account plan shown and exact message for support. Do not repeatedly generate new reports just to resolve an unclear download state.

5. Open the downloaded file itself

Inspect the full export, not only the branding preview. Confirm the intended client and period, complete sections, readable text, intact tables, correct page references and the firm’s actual name. Compare totals and assumptions with the reviewed report.

Use a recognizable filename and confirm the recipient before sharing. If the file is clipped, incomplete or shows sample placeholders, hold the delivery and correct that issue first. Keep the source draft and the reviewed deliverable distinct in your records.
