Add a lead or prepare a spreadsheet import

Use Add One Lead for a single person, or prepare a CSV/XLSX file with the expected columns. Validate the file and check the resulting records before treating an import as complete.

Leads → Add lead
On this page

1. Choose the right entry method

Open Leads and select Add lead. In Add New Lead, choose Add One Lead or Import a Spreadsheet.

For one person, enter First name, Last name, Email address, Phone number and ZIP code as applicable. Choose the services the person actually requested under What services are they interested in? Review the details before using Add Lead.

2. Prepare the expected spreadsheet columns

The import panel accepts .csv and .xlsx. Its instructions name six columns and identify the first three as required. Use the displayed column names to keep the file easy to check.

3. Review the file before upload

This demonstrates the three required headers using a fictional address. It is not an import-tested file or a real client to contact.

  • Keep one intended person per row.
  • Check that required cells are present and match the correct person.
  • Review repeated emails before uploading; do not assume how duplicates will be handled.
  • Keep unrelated financial documents and sensitive notes out of the lead spreadsheet.

4. Check the file, then verify the result

Use the drop area or browse control to choose the file, then Check the file when enabled. Read the validation result and correct any reported rows before proceeding through the import action shown.

After completion, return to Leads, select All time and search for the intended people. Compare the records with your file, including names, emails and services. File selection and Check the file are earlier steps; the resulting records establish what was actually added.

If something looks wrong, keep the exact validation message and the relevant row number. Review existing records before uploading the same file again.
